Christian Cackler's “RECOLLECTIONS OF AN OLD SETTLER" BOOK
The Streetsboro Heritage Foundation presents a piece of history. Streetsboro settler, Christian Cackler Jr. recaps early life in Streetsboro in “Recollections of an Early Settler.” Written and published in 1874 by Cackler, this 60-page book, summarizes the memories of Cackler as a child in early 1800s in northeastern Ohio describing the pioneer experience of the first settlers when he arrived in 1804 from Pennsylvania.
His father Christian Cackler Sr. was a soldier in the revolutionary war and served under George Washington. They were both laid to rest in Cackler Cemetery in Streetsboro.

Emma McGrew Root -"A Brief History of Pioneers and Settlers of Streetsboro" Book
The Streetsboro Heritage Foundation presents a piece of history. Early resident, Emma McGrew Root highlights her years in Streetsboro through this 28-page book. Giving a unique perspective during the Centennial 100-year birthday of Streetsboro, McGrew-Root describes her experiences of life in Streetsboro as a child in, “A Brief History of the Pioneers and Early Settlers of Streetsboro.”

McGrew-Root’s is the grand-daughter of Stephen Myers Jr. the very first settler of Streetsboro in 1822. McGrew-Root was laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery in Streetsboro in 1941.
